71 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded since the last update bringing the total number of cases recorded in Seychelles to 2058.
Of the new cases, 12 are from samples taken on 12th February, 29 from the 13th February, 29 from the 14th February and 1 from 15th February. All are Seychellois.
58 cases (5 Foreigners and 53 Seychellois) met discharge criteria today and have been discharged into convalescence.
Another COVID-19 related death has been recorded bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Seychelles to 10. The 78-year-old with several co-morbid conditions, who was admitted at family hospital on the 4th of February, died at the facility in Perseverance this morning.
Everyone is advised to continue practice the different measures to stop the spread of COVID-19. Keep interactions to immediate households (the persons you live with) only and to not gather in crowds. Other measures to follow:
• Wear a mask in public places and where physical distancing cannot be maintained
• Practise hand hygiene regularly
• Avoid gatherings and crowds
• Avoid sharing objects
• Practise physical distancing of more than 1 metre
All persons placed under home quarantine who develop symptoms are advised to visit the special stations at Glacis Health Centre, Baie Lazare Health Centre and Mont Fleuri Health Centre. The home quarantine period should be completed for 14 days, from arrival in Seychelles or last contact with a positive case of COVID-19. A certificate of quarantine will be presented at the end of the quarantine period.
Anyone with symptoms related to COVID-19 are asked to report to special stations at Glacis Health Centre, Baie Lazare Health Centre and Mont Fleuri Health Centre between 8am-12pm and 1pm-2pm. People who use these health centres for regular consultations, should go to their regional centres.
