Students explore nursing in panel discussion

Students from different schools across the country will on Friday 28th February 2020 explore the nursing profession in a panel discussion organised by the Health Department.

The debate will take place at the Seychelles Institute for Teacher Education (SITE) Auditorium in Mont Fleuri from 2pm.

It will be moderated by careers teachers, current and retired nurses.

The activity is part of a selection to commemorate the International Year for Nurses and Midwives which was launched by the Designated Minister on Friday 21st February 2020.

'Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibilitity' is the theme for this year's World AIDS Day, commemorated today Tuesday 1st December.

The activities for the occasion were launched by the Principal Secretary for Health Dr Bernard during a workshop aimed at building capacity for HIV & viral hepatitis prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reading the Minister's messaged, PS Valentin reminded health workees that as healthcare providers they need to ensure that care continues during the response the pandemic and that HIV services are not affected.

While measures taken to respond to the pandemic national is seen to have impacted access HIV services such as educational outreach and testing, the Ministry of Health and it's partners are working strongly towards reinforcing these services as part of continuity of care programmes.
